Chris Stevens

After qualifying as a solicitor in 2005, Chris spent 18 years working for some of the UK’s leading criminal defence firms.

He established CJS Defence as a boutique law practice in 2021, inspired by an ambition to provide a more personal client-led service.

Chris has experience across the full spectrum of criminal offences and extradition requests, having defended clients facing allegations of Murder, Rape, Serious Fraud, Money Laundering, GBH, ABH, Theft, Common Assault and Driving Offences.

Chris has represented high-net-worth individuals, politically exposed persons, professionals facing career ruin, and the vulnerable. He is sympathetic and understanding of the varied needs of his clients, direct and honest in his advice, and leaves no stone unturned to achieve the best outcomes.

Annie Goulding

Annie graduated from Exeter University with a first-class law degree in 2023. Since then, she has worked in legal tech sales before starting at CJS Defence in April 2025 as a paralegal. Annie is currently studying for the SQE and training to qualify as a criminal defence solicitor.
